Porn Star Michael Brandon on crystal story
Recently the San Francisco Weekly ran a story on gay porn star Michael Brandon and his addiction to crystal meth and his following drug arrests. Brandon was one of most profilic figures in gay porn, having worked on over 150 films as an actor and director between 1999 and 2006. He first appeared in adult films in 1989 but he wound up convincted on possesion charges and sent to jail twice in the 1990's. Following his release Michael sobered up and for a while was doing public service campaigns educating the gay community on the dangers of crystal meth. However last year he had a relapse and pretty much out of sight, hiding in motels and on the street and not only using the drug but selling it as well. The article ends with Brandon returning to a courthouse for a hearing in September, only to be arrested on new possesion charges. A pretty sad story, one that reflects the addiction of crystal meth that a number of gay men face in the past decade. Here's hoping that he will make a good recovery and that he can get his life back in order.

Meth is a bad addiction. It is very hard to kick it and get off of it.
Wow! How vain and arrogant can you get???! The asshole gets off light with only court ordered rehab and he also gets a public defender etc. Wow! Amazing he sells drugs, lives a hypocrite life for years (btw he was not on a 10 month run; he was using over 3 years and there are witnesses + since he has publically done poppers since 2000 he is not clean in any means - - POPPERS are against the NA programme)
Michael Brandon is an embarassment to gay men everywhere - - he promotes porno like it is a drug and a necessary item in gay life! He makes the world think that gays are street trash, sex-crazed druggies! He is so full of himself! What audacity to state he relapsed due to NA groups and that there is no anonymity for him! What utter bullshit! If what he does for a living does not keep him clean then HE and no one else has to make serious changes! IT IS NEVER ABOUT THE GROUP - IT IS ABOUT the INDIVIDUAL! Brandon (or is it Philips?) also was a free agent to find new meetings and work with new sponsors who would protect his anonymity! This horrific porno queen is a perfect example of trying to blame others for things that are 100% your fault! Get a life Michael and quit embarassing the gay community!
Anything negative about Michael Brandon is Bullshit because Michael is obligated to do porno because of his dick size! He owes this to the world and has no choice! He gets under pressure and has to do drugs because that is the only way to cope in life! Lay off him! He has no choice because you see, fame and fortune are difficult and he can’t go to meetings cause he will be recognized and everytime he goes to see a shrink or a doctor that professional wants to go down on Michael too. The problem is that Michael is such a big star that he needs the drugs to manage his life so give him a break! Plus poppers and alcohol and even pot aren’t really drugs! We all do these substances and get busted from time to time and then we manage and get through it! Michael needs these things cause it is hard to have the calling of such a big porno star who contributes so much to humanity and the progress of the nation + world peace and help to those in need! Afterall, look at what happened to poor Ryan Idol. We wouldn’t want Michael falling out of any windows and we want him around so we can all sit on his dildo of monster cause that is a very important contribution for world peace and a betterr ecconomy! I do not know what I woudl do if it was not for my “monster dildo!” it gives me so much peace and happiness and aside from michael himself it is the only thing I truly love in this world! Millions of people owe their very existence to what michael has done with his large penis! The world is such a better place because of this! Furthermore, it is not Michael Brandon’s fault that Raging Stallion hates him and he is not allowed on their property! You do not understand that people are jealous of his stardom and big penis and they have to do and say nasty things to cope. You see, Michael had no choice; he was forced to use and forced to undo his anti-meth work of 1999-2004 because the world was mean to him and put lots of pressure on this poor fellow! Lastly, because Michael has so many fans, he has to do drugs in order to manage them and the time demands they put on him. He has to do drugs to stay hard and take care of his fans. Certainly even with the power of meth, Michael’s time is difficult to manage and he has to not shown up at places he promises to and people inevitable have to bet burned through no fault of Michael’s.
Any way, getting arrested is no big deal! Everyone who is anyone has been arrested and done time! I mean that is part of being an important person!
Give the guy a break, he is so wonderful and loving and fucks everyone with love! And lord knows we all need to be fucked and especially by the rare dick michael’s size so he is obligated! He deserves nothing but unconditional love and tons of awards for his world-changing wonderful work in the pornography industry! +++ It is not Michael’s fault the press got involved! I am a performer in the industry and did a film last year at Michael's studio of choice RS, I met Michael and he seemed kind and shy actually. Here is the deal .Addiction is a disease PERIOD, it leaves a trail of destruction and those in current addiction are delusional, not because they are bad , but because they are sick . I am not the household Porn name that Michael is , I went in did my job and didn't participate in the after hour parties every weekend that seem to be a "requirement" in the industry, if you are over 35 and are on a go go cage at 3-4 am something tells me that's more than RED BULL in your system !!!.

It has been really funny for about 6 months to watch Michael Brandon show up to Gay Events, many of which he crashes and was not invited to. He is proud, conceited as hell and clearly high on some substance and walks in expecting an applause! It is so funny cause hardly anyone even recognizes him, let alone gives him any attention and he has gotten a few boos when he arrogantly thinks he has something to contribute.
I don't know when all these comments were made, but I'm hoping it was back in 2008 when the article was written. I met Michael in 2012 at Southern Decadence and he was as nice as could be, very polite, no hint of Drug use, (which by the way, is not only common in the Porn Industry, but actually pushed on them by the Studios, Producers, and Directors) and humble enough to hang out with a Big Ol' Bear 20 years his Senior like myself, never asking for a dime. In fact, we hung out together 4 of the 6 nights he was there, and HE paid for the drinks most of the time. I am appalled at the negativity this article's comments contain, especially considering most, if not ALL, of you have never taken a minute out of your Narrow Minded, Holier Than Thou, Stare Down Your Nose, Stuck Up Lives, to talk to the man personally and listen to his story. Everyone knows that the Public Persona and Private Persona are two different things. YOU are the people that give GAY MEN a bad name. Your Elitist Attitudes Disgust me to no end.
I met Michael Brandon last year sometime and he was really cool and sweet and vulnerable and humble. Not superficial or Egocentric or lame or a jerk at all. He looked exactly the same as he did in the 90s. I live in SF. I'm writing this in 2021 btw during the pandemic. I can't imagine what life must be like for him to be a fully developed evolved human being and have such rabid insistent haters attached to HIM and blogging and commenting relentlessly about the life HE'S trying to live.
